Word on the Street is an exciting new English Language

I use Word on the Street for a number of good reasons.
I use Word on the Street for a number of good reasons.
This teaching programme presents British culture in an easily understood and
lively way. It also helps students to understand the listening and then
practice their English language skills. The tasks are thouroughly designed
which is time saving for a teacher. Moreover, the activities help to improve
all components of language competence.
The
videos should be used within a sequence of tasks: pre-viewing, while-viewing
and post-viewing. It’s
important to start with pre-viewing tasks because they deal with developing
learners’ comprehension strategies and make students focus on the topic.
The next step is while-viewing activities. I have my students watch a
video twice: activities for a first viewing are associated with developing
listening skills, tasks for a second viewing deal with reinforcing language
(grammar and vocabulary).
Post-viewing activities may be connected with making up similar
dialogues, making projects, using the Internet resources to find out more
information about the topic. So, post-viewing tasks develop students’
creativity and research skills.
Word on the Street is a
motivating tool for both learners and teachers.
